Ridgeley is a small town located in Mineral County, West Virginia, USA. As of the 2010 census, the population of Ridgeley was 675. Ridgeley is situated on the Potomac River and is just north of the West Virginia-Maryland state line. The town is part of the Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area and is in close proximity to several major highways, including Interstate 68 and U.S. Route 220. Founded in the late 1800s, Ridgeley was a railroad town and was named after the president of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, William E. Ridgeley. Today, the town has a nostalgic feel and is home to several small businesses and a few restaurants.
